Discoveries

Thank you everybody for your sweet comments and emails on my birthday post, it seems I have more friends in the area that I simply must meet.  My actual birthday was a complete blast!  I spent the morning with a very dear friend chatting over coffee, thrifting, and chatting some more over lunch.  Where ever the wind blew us we went.  It was fabulous, and such a luxury to just be without the little one repeating mommy a gazillion and two times, or interrupting to show me a worm he found, or screaming for me to help grab his matchbox truck he threw deep in the bushes.  It was a very relaxing day that seemed to get better as each hour passed.

Roman made the most amazing dinner: tri-tip from Seaside (a.k.a "Cardiff Crack"), salad, and an amazingly delicious mac n' cheese gnocchi (discovered on this blog, many of her recipes sound amazing).  Somehow after all that I managed to save room for dessert, an assortment of my favorite cupcakes from Elizabethan Desserts.  Food coma.

Although my birthday week is winding down, the year of a new age and new discoveries is just beginning.  I am excited for what's in store, and embrace turning 34.

Have a beautiful weekend!  If you live in Southern Cali brace for rain.  Might I suggest a little comfort food to ease the bad weather blues...make the gnocchi...it's amazing.  I think I am going to make these.
