Switching things up a bit, I thought it would be fun to take "favorite finds" on the {virtual} road. I have asked some of my favorite bloggers, friends, and folks I admire to share their favorite finds with me. First up, the amazingly talented Alexis of Fern & Feather.
Hello bink & boo, Alexis here from
Fern & Feather... It has been so much fun looking around and finding my favorite treasures. I think that my answers would change weekly but here are the things around my home that are making me especially happy right now... enjoy.
My grandmother gave me this juicer a few years ago. I loved the design and knew that it was over 50 years old but I totally didn’t get it until a couple weeks ago when I was at Whisk & Ladle in La Jolla and I saw them juicing with a similar one. I was in a bit of a Lavender Honey Martini daze when it hit me... ‘I have one of those.’ Since then I have dusted it off and we have been juicing up a
storm. delish.
This was an engagement gift from my great aunt it has been in our family for years and most recently has been sitting on the table next to our sofa. It makes me so happy.
I bought this book at a flea market in the South of France. It is a beautiful little book on how to keep your house clean and tidy. Although I don’t speak French I am trying to be a French housewife by osmosis ;).
AAAhhh. Milk glass. Sigh. My grandmother told me when I was about 13 that I needed to start collecting something. She told me that the hunt is much more fun if you have something in mind. After years of collecting Milk Glass I have been focusing on chickens as of late... this is my hands down favorite piece. I call him Ernest.
And finally this painting has been at the tippy top of my favorites for a long time now. Hidden
behind a few other pieces this beautiful painting was waiting for me to find her at the Long Beach
flea market. That is all I know about the history although the back of the painting is definitely old, the
frame has a stamp that says something about Spain and the crackle on the piece is authentic. I love this
piece. I hope it hangs in our great great grandchildren’s house one day.
