I have plans to repurpose this top. The belts are to die for. I felt like a disco diva the second I wrapped them around my waist.
This vintage scarf is going to make a very cool pocketbook.
I found these folded inside a stack of towels. Seriously people, you have to find a better hiding spot. Better yet, when you find something you want BUY IT! On second thought, please keep hiding it. I like the feeling of stumbling upon your treasures and swiping them from you. (insert evil laugh) haaaaaa Haaaaaahaaa, HAAAAAHAAAAA (cough cough - too much laugh, too much laugh).
Ok, now sit back, and enjoy a little story time.
I thought the mister seemed a little swirly when he woke up on Saturday. For the second day in a row he wanted to get coffee, throw pennies, and hit up estate sales. One day a week is fine, but two days...IN A ROW!? Fine with me! I know I complain sometimes about the mister joining me in my adventures, but the truth is I love having him with me. He is so much fun, and he adds a certain je ne sais quoi (I hope I spelled that right) to the experience. Plus I love hearing him rationalize why I should or shouldn't purchase something. He is so practical and rational. I on the other hand... Well let's just say that he is an accountant. That should sum it up.
Saturday was my favorite day of the three day estate sale escapades. We headed down to Starbucks and drank the usual; decaf, tall, soy latte for me and a grande, add shot, frappuccino with caramel sauce added in the blender (it's sooo good, but too sweet for me) for Ro'. We hung with the "usuals" (some folks we've come to know from hanging out at Starbucks) for a bit, threw some pennies in the fountain with Bronson, and then headed to Vista for our one estate sale for the day. I had never been to this particular area of Vista, and Roman had never been any where near the area before. So I was a little surprised by his excitement to arrive at this sale. As we cruised down the back roads of San Diego county, drinking our coffee, and jamming Jack Johnson (Bronson LOVES him) we were saddened to see a road closure sign up ahead. We were in the country and knew of no other way to arrive at our destination. I could not believe it when Roman suggested I just go around the sign and push through to the sale. Sooooo NOT like him. Remember he is an accountant. He isn't much of a risk taker. Of course in my mind I was already thinking that the road closure couldn't be serious and I should go around it, which is exactly what I would have done if Ro' wasn't with me. I knew it was nothing major - there was no earthquake, storm, or fire the night before. So after pretending I was really worried, and feeling uneasy about going around the sign I went ahead and we kept on cruising...until we were stopped about a mile down the road. We were forced to turn around, but not before I demanded detailed directions for a proper detour. I am sure the man thought I was crazy, but I just had to get to this sale.
A short ride on the freeway, and few twist and turns down a country road, and we were finally at our destination. I am not joking when I say I was convinced this was Liberaci's love den. Where else would you find these...
And this! Yes, it's a phone...
AND A LAMP!
And this jacket?
Yup. It's an embroidered tic tac toe print on polyester. Classy. Seriously, we would have bought this jacket if it wasn't so stained. I am not gonna lie, it was pretty cool.
There were so many things that we wanted to buy - for future halloween costumes. This guy had a collection of ruffled shirts that would rival that of any pirate, let alone a whole ship full of pirates. We learned the couple were a hair and make-up duo and had done a number of movies. They were pretty famous and successful, they even had a number of awards including an Oscar. Or was it an Emmy? Either way there were talented. I wish I would have taken more pictures. This couple clearly loved and insisted on

Manties, manties, manties!!! Sean needs some... OK I think I just wet my pants from laughing so hard. The lead up was perfect...!!! "Remember he is an accountant. He isn't much of a risk taker." I really would have like to have been a fly in your car... Plus, when you do have a Halloween Party, let me come. I'm going to have Sean wear some manites holding the phone lamp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete* Bianca I’m scared to drink with you... We might cry all night from laughing so hard or need to wear diapers.
